Video Director • Live Visuals • Weekly Residency
Created in collaboration with Ram Maurer, a trusted creative partner and longtime collaborator and Creative Director of this project. I was hired as the Video Director for a weekly event series at Revival, a music and performance venue in Santa Monica known for its eclectic lineups and immersive atmosphere. My role was to design, program, and direct the visual experience that supported each week’s performers.
Working with a mix of DJs, musicians, and live acts, I developed a flexible visual system that allowed me to create custom looks for every show—ranging from ambient textures and motion graphics to rhythm-driven visuals synced with the music. I managed all on-site video playback, projection cues, and screen compositions to ensure the visual direction elevated the energy of the night.
The residency functioned like a live VJ/director hybrid role:
- Crafting custom visual packs weekly
- Operating mapped projections and LED displays in real time
- Collaborating with talent and event producers on mood, tempo, and style
- Keeping the visual identity cohesive across the venue while still allowing each performance its own signature look
This ongoing weekly engagement built Revival’s reputation for pairing high-quality visuals with its live programming, and it gave me the opportunity to explore a wide range of styles, techniques, and real-time creative workflows in a fast-paced live environment.
