Living Mural Project — Collaboration with Hans Haveron

I collaborated with fine artist Hans Haveron to bring one of his signature sculptural totems to life using projection-mapped video, creating an evolving “living mural” that merged hand-crafted artwork with digital motion.

Hans built a custom mixed-media totem—a vertical fine-art structure layered with painted textures, symbols, and dimensional elements. My role was to design and execute the projection system that transformed the piece into a dynamic, animated installation. The goal was to enhance the existing artwork without overwhelming it, allowing the motion to feel like an extension of his hand-painted style.

Using a combination of motion graphics, light studies, and texture animation, I created custom video sequences that wrapped the totem’s surfaces, making the artwork breathe, shift, and evolve in real time. We aligned every contour of the sculpture so the light behaved like it was painted directly onto the piece.

This “living mural” became a touring installation, appearing at festivals, art events, and immersive gatherings where it served as both a sculptural anchor and a digital performance piece. The hybrid approach—fine art meets projection mapping—became one of Hans Haveron’s recognizable showcase techniques, and our collaboration demonstrated how traditional art can be extended with technology in an organic, story-driven way.
